At Kalye Artisano, we believe that every action—big or small—can create waves of positive change. On September 21, 2024, we proudly joined Ten Knots’ Be Green Program and Ocean Conservancy in celebrating International Coastal Cleanup Day! Alongside our passionate hotels and resort guests, staff, merchants, community members, and volunteers, we took to the shores of Lio Cove and Turtle Island with a mission: to protect and preserve our beloved oceans.
A Storm’s Aftermath & Our Collective Action: The recent stormy weather swept in waves of waste onto El Nido’s pristine beaches, leaving behind a heartbreaking sight. Together, we joined hands to restore the shore's cleanliness and beauty. With determination and teamwork, we removed over 4,000 pieces of non-biodegradable waste—plastic bottles, fishing nets, and other pollutants that threaten marine life. And while we made a huge impact, there is still so much more to be done. Every piece left behind poses a danger to our delicate ecosystems.
Why It Matters: Each piece of trash we collect is a step closer to change—a change that protects our marine life, safeguards our coastal communities, and ensures that the natural beauty of El Nido remains for generations to come. We’re not just cleaning up; we’re making a statement, a commitment to the ocean that gives us so much.
Join the Movement: We encourage everyone to join us on this ongoing journey. Whether it’s joining a cleanup drive, reducing plastic use, or spreading awareness—every effort counts! Let’s continue to #SeaTheChange and inspire more hands to take action.
With love,
Kalye Artisano
