Kalye Artisano Green Christmas Bazaar 2024: Celebrating Sustainability, Culture, and Community

Kalye Artisano Green Christmas Bazaar 2024: Celebrating Sustainability, Culture, and Community

The Green Christmas Bazaar 2024 at Kalye Artisano was a joyful event that united local artisans, entrepreneurs, and sustainability advocates to celebrate the holidays in an environmentally friendly manner.  From December 19-21, 2024, Kalye Artisano transformed into a green marketplace with several events and workshops, showcasing sustainable shopping, cultural performances, and discussions on environmental awareness.

Addressing the Growing Holiday Waste Crisis

The holiday season generates an enormous amount of waste in the Philippines. According to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), waste production spikes by nearly 70% during Christmas, with Metro Manila alone generating up to 12,600 tons of waste daily. Additionally, approximately 120 million Christmas lights are discarded each year, adding to the country’s growing environmental concerns.

A Mission for a Greener Celebration

The Green Christmas Bazaar aimed to prove that holiday celebrations can be both joyful and environmentally responsible. Through sustainable products, eco-friendly packaging, and conscious consumer choices, the event showcased how traditions can thrive while minimizing environmental impact.
